Transforming Partner Participation Scheme Management with a Centralised Forecasting Model Using Anaplan

Case Studies

Situation

The client required a scalable solution to replace outdated Excel models and manual processes used for managing their Partner Participation Scheme. They faced challenges such as fragmented data management, limited scenario analysis capabilities, inconsistent tracking of vesting and leaver status, and a lack of integrated reporting to provide comprehensive insights at both fund and participant levels.

Approach

A centralised Data Hub was implemented using Anaplan to act as the single source of truth for all scheme data, integrating historical and current inputs from legacy systems. The model was designed to accurately forecast scheme values at aggregate and individual levels, incorporating complex vesting schedules, leaver logic, interest calculations, and cash management for multiple fund families including Private Equity, Credit, and Real Estate. Automated data validation and import processes with full audit trails were developed, along with embedded scenario analysis for fund-level “what-if” testing. Dynamic, role-based reporting dashboards were created to cover valuations, vesting progress, payout schedules, tax advances, and liquidity metrics.

Impact

The implemented solution enhanced accuracy and transparency in partner participation valuation while significantly reducing manual effort and risk of errors. Governance was improved through audit trails and version control. Stakeholders gained timely access to detailed insights segmented by participant, fund, time period, and scenario, facilitating better decision-making. Integration with the client’s Wealth Portal further streamlined carry and co-investment processing, increasing operational efficiency.

Conclusion

Looking forward, focus will be on technical enhancements and strengthening the client relationship to maintain status as the preferred implementation partner.
