Career Paths

You will be supported to progress through each grade at Alpha, with formal appraisal and promotion opportunity once a year. At Alpha, we don’t have any concept of ‘time at level’ or promotion quotas – which means that your potential is truly driven by your performance, and you are in charge of your own career trajectory.

Analyst

Supported by their teams and dedicated managerial guidance, our analysts ensure seamless operations and deliver exceptional results for our clients.

Consultant

As a Consultant, you will take a leading role in driving our change programs. You may be leading a workstream within a larger program; or helping to drive projects and produce deliverables for smaller projects alongside a small team of other Alpha resources. You will be responsible for identifying and implementing solutions for a range of issues facing asset and wealth managers. Over the course of each project, you will collect and analyze data, prepare and test hypotheses, and present recommendations to the client to solve their unique business challenge. You’ll be paying a proactive, leadership role in driving our programs forward and engaging directly with senior client stakeholders to solve their business challenge.

Manager

As a Manager, you will be responsible for managing project execution and a team of consultants ensuring the successful delivery of client engagements, including planning the day-to-day work of the team, facilitating client interviews and workshops, structuring client deliverables and ensuring Alpha’s standards for quality are met. You would also take an active role in creating a culture of continuous learning for Alpha team members, and actively mentoring to develop their skillset as they progress in their careers, supporting Alpha FMC’s business development by driving the creation of client proposals, authoring thought leadership, and maintaining strong relationships with past and prospective clients and contributing to the wider Alpha community by making innovative and proactive contributions to one or more of Alpha’s business management or practice areas.

Senior Manager

As a Senior Manager, you will be pivotal in leading engagements to identify and implement solutions for a range of issues facing asset and wealth managers. As a Senior Manager, you will be responsible for managing project execution and a team of consultants ensuring the successful delivery of client engagements, including planning the day-to-day work of the team, facilitating client interviews and workshops, structuring client deliverables and ensuring Alpha’s standards for quality are met. You will also take the lead in creating a culture of continuous learning for the team and clients, and actively mentoring team members to develop their skillset as they progress in their careers, supporting Alpha FMC’s business development by driving the creation of client proposals, authoring thought leadership, and maintaining strong relationships with past and prospective clients and contributing to the wider Alpha community by making innovative and proactive contributions to one or more of Alpha’s business management or practice areas. (Our Senior Managers either support projects across our practice areas or focus on delivery within a specific practice).

Associate Director

As an Associate Director, you will play a key role in building and sustaining lasting relationships with C-Suite Executives of leading organizations in the sector. Our Associate Directors really understand Alpha and our clients. They take responsibility for the biggest projects and provide oversight on a number of clients at once. They will act as a proactive leader, who will thrive in a fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned, results-oriented consulting professional with strong business development skills and a passion for delivering projects in the asset management industry. Most importantly, they will be a team player excited to grow with the company and take on new business challenges. Our Associate Directors can support projects across all of our practice areas or specialize in delivery within one specific practice.

Director/Executive Director

Directors and Executive Directors support the firm’s business development and most senior client relationships. They are responsible for delivery of consulting engagements including negotiation and contracting with the client, direction and oversight of team and approach, management of budgets, quality assurance on required deliverables, and ongoing client stakeholder management, as well as a variety of internal team coaching, leadership & business management responsibilities.
